Summary
Callers spoofing bank numbers ask customers to read back an OTP to “cancel” a fraudulent transfer.
What is happening
A wave of calls impersonating bank fraud departments is circulating. The caller claims a suspicious transfer is in progress and asks you to confirm an OTP to stop it. No bank will ask for an OTP, PIN, or password to reverse a transfer. Hang up and call your bank on the number printed on your card.
What to do
Do not share OTPs, PINs, passwords, or screenshots.
Verify requests through official numbers or apps you find yourself.
Report suspicious indicators so they can be reviewed.
