This is not a police report

If you are in immediate danger, contact the police. If you have lost money or shared banking details, contact your bank or mobile-money provider straight away. They may be able to stop or trace the funds.

Before you start, it helps to have

Details of the scam: the phone number, account, link, or handle that contacted you, and roughly when.
Any screenshots or files as proof (PDF, JPG, or PNG). This is optional.
If you lost money: the amount and any transaction reference.
